Day 16194 - My Monotony

"Beware of monotony; it's the mother of all the deadly sins." -Edith Wharton

Not sure of the deadly sin part but monotony sure is killing!

Here are the happenings from my end –

  • Weekend came and went!
  • Visited a girls orphanage as part of Partnership development activities. Completely touched and moved
  • Mom had her 69th lunar birthday. Low profile celebration with a s small relatives gathering
  • Book writing going slow
  • Currently reading "Angels and Demons" – Dan Brown

That's it!

Day 16190 - The wanderer who is not lost

" All those who wander are not lost"someone

So on this day, I am resurrecting something I had wanted to try but the right time (and planets) hadn't aligned. Its called "The descendants of the war" – a novel that I want to write and maybe publish some day.

Here's a proof that I mean it.... A screenshot of my word processor with at least the title page ready. It will be a fiction set in my own universe where I will have the liberty to do whatever with who ever I want to! What else can anyone wish for?

Jokes apart, I think I want to do this coz  for this year - I have the comfort of deciding my activities and time. So why not use it for everything that I ever wanted to.

And don't conclude I am lost! I am very much grounded. Here's the proof of my "real" day..

Otherwise happenings today
  • Morning was irregular – I mean it had the dad-drop, Getting-kids-ready part but then we also had to get ready early. We had a "Upanayanam" or "Poonal" ( A tamil, brahmin ritual of baptizing a boy into brahminhood ) to attend to.
  • Had a sumptuous breakfast and then came back and took my favourite "horizontal" position (also called dozing off) for next 120 minutes.
  • Post that went and had a hair cut post which I am more exposed of uneven grey hairs spread all through my head.
  • May have a small socializing in the next hour or so – To visit a friend of my wife who recently had a grandchild! (Yes – Don't fall off, My wife has some older friends)
  • If we are any lucky – we may end up ending our day with a movie. There is this movie called "U Turn" by Pawan Kumar , one of my neo-favourite story teller. I resonate with his thinking so much.( Any guesses as to where did I pick my yesterdays quotes on the stone from?)

All right peeps – I would like to excuse myself now... Let me try typing something for my "epic" as well

Day 16189 - The stones find their place

The Sixteen Thousandth and One Hundred Eighty Ninth day proceeded as follows

  • Regular morning routine – Drop dad at hospital, get the kids ready, newspaper and morning prayers
  • Just one more addition to above, did a 10 minute planks – more to "feel better" that I am taking care of my body than "toning" it.
  • The stones find their place in our home – Call it my obsession since last one year or so.... Have been trying to collect white rock stones and writing my favourite quotes on them. The rocks themselves are spread throughout the home, to give us a "random" kick whenever we find one next to us! One sample shown here in the post
  • Much of my day went in reading/researching the Indian Company Act – Section 135 which deals with CSR. Need that to get the BIG funds for my organization. We have 21 kids for 2019 whom we have adopted in terms of sponsoring their higher studies but want to make it 600 in next 5-6 years...For that need BIIIIIIIGGGGG funding!

Otherwise life is going great! It always has and I see no reason why it can be any other ways!

Day 16188 - The writing fever again

A  warm hello to begin with. How is life looking at whatever day number of your life you are reading this on?

On my side, Day 16188 looks rather eased out. The morning routine was same. Getting up at 5:15, then snoozing it to gain those precious 3 minutes of "extra" sleep, Dropping dad at the hospital, getting the kids ready to school, reading the newspaper and finally ablution followed by prayers.

The thing different today was the visit to a mandapam for attending the 80th birthday of one of our neighbours. Had a sumptuous lunch and then came back and drowsed again.

And then it struck (again!)...

Why did I stop writing? Now that I have all the time in the world and the liberty to plan it the way I want it to, there should be no reasons left for me NOT to WRITE.

And so here I am typing fast on my keyboard whatever I feel like. On the other hand, I do think I am enjoying this and will try once again to make this a daily ritual.

Lets check it out.... Stay tuned coz I may not be lying!
